Da Vinci Code Marketing Continues...

Scotsman.com reports that SCOTLAND'S tourism agency is building a new marketing campaign around the continued success of the Da Vinci Code in hopes to see an increase in travelers. They are announcing a contest to win a trip through Scotland, England and France, which follows the Da Vinci path.

The campaign will begin with an extensive e-mail marketing distribution explaining the contest. More than 750,000 will be the first recipients and how they enter themselves is by referring 2 friends and then those friends refer 2 more to accept…leading to a massive on-line awareness of the contest and Scotland tourism itself.

Based around the pictures and stories being shared online, VisitScotland's chief executive Philip Riddle shared that they hope the communication will help build excitement and intrigue to explore the Da Vinci code locations featured in the movie.

How long will everyone be able to ride the success of the Da Vinci Code? Now that the movie has been released will the hype calm down or just keep growing? Scotland’s tourism agency hopes that they will be able to spark people’s interest one time before The Da Vinci Code falls out of the spotlight.
