Darfur is Dying
Indiantelevision.com reported today of a viral video game "Darfur is Dying" developed in the US by digital activists from the University of Southern California. According to the Indiantelevision.com Team, "The viral, online video game aims to spread awareness of the genocide taking place in the Darfur region of Sudan. It looks to serve as a call to action, and further empower college students to help stop the killing." Upon visiting www.darfurisdying.com players are directed to choose a Darfurian to represent your camp and then select the button "FORAGE FOR WATER."
Not only is this viral video game spreading the word of these activists, but it is educating thousands and calling many to take a stand. At the top of the page are options to view the background, which directs site visitors to see celebrities supporting the game such as music artist Kanye West and Olympic gold medalist Joey Cheek. Below the page is Reebok branding with a link to Reebok's Human Rights Foundation. College students will be directed to play and send the game to friends across the nation through the site and kiosks. The game is launched in conjunction with "Translating Genocide: Three Students Journey to Sudan" a student-filmed documentary.

Wow, I created the site, and also generated the URL name to position the initiative and website. Nice to see it had some success!
